TNBS-Induced Colitis Model

Creative Animodel is one of the top companies providing the most comprehensive service for developing animal models of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) including chronic inflammation as well as acute inflammation. We offer the best service from model selection, model creation to study design, experimental analysis and data collection.

Haptinizing agent 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS) dissolved in ethanol and intrarectally administered to a mouse through a special catheter is a suitable method to induce colitis. Ethanol is required to break the mucosal barrier, whereas TNBS is believed to haptenize colonic autologous or microbiota proteins rendering them immunogenic to the host immune system. The clinical observation of TNBS induced colitis model is similar to DSS induced model, which include weight loss, shorten of intestine and villus, diarrhea, and rectal bleeding. However, TNBS model normally shows more severe damage in the colon compared to the DSS model. It is believed that TNBS-induced mice model could be used to study T helper cell-dependent mucosal immune responses and other aspects of gut inflammation including cytokine secretion, mechanisms of oral tolerance, cell adhesion and immunotherapy. 1

Creative Animodel provides the TNBS-induced colitis animal models. We have experienced experts and scientists who has worked in this area for years and really understand this field. They would work closely with you to provide a one-stop service from model selection, model creation to inflammation assessment and preclinical drug efficacy evaluation. We offer the strategy and experimental design that best fit your needs and herein to accelerate the speed to achieve your research goals.

Creative Animodel also provides various preclinical service for IBD, which includes, but not limited to:

  • • Assessment of Inflammation score
  • • PK/PD blood collection
  • • Body weight measurement
  • • Gut immunohistochemically images
  • • MPO (Myeloperoxidase) activity assessment
  • • Assessment of pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-1β, IL-6, IFN-γ, TNF-α
  • • Endoscopy imaging
  • • Analyses of inflammation related miRNA (miRNA qPCR, miRNA microArray)

As thousands and thousands are suffering from inflammatory bowel disease, Creative Animodel is dedicated to create the most suitable animal models for IBD research to facilitate the development of potential treatments. We will work closely with you on every step and be your best assistance on your research against IBD. We are looking forward to cooperating with you and your team.
