What Is Liver Metabolized Enzyme?
Metabolism of drug is often divided into two phases – phase I and phase II. And liver is the main site of drug metabolism. In addition to reduction or hydrolysis of the drugs, oxidation is the most common process in phase I. Oxidation is always catalyzed by cytochrome P450 enzymes. Phase II metabolism involves conjugation with an endogenous substance in which transferase enzymes are responsible for most phase II reactions, such as uridine 5'-diphospho-glucuronosyltransferase. Drugs can be metabolized through oxidation, reduction, conjugation, hydrolysis, hydration and so on. The goal of drug metabolism is to make the drug easier to excrete. The enzymes involved in drug metabolism are existed in many tissues but generally are more concentrated in liver.

Available Liver Metabolized Enzymes Services
Cytochromes P450 (CYPs) is a microsomal superfamily of isoenzymes that catalyzes the oxidation of many drugs. The human cytochrome P450 system is implicated in many drug interactions. We provide cytochrome P450-related assays, such as cytochrome P450 reaction phenotyping, induction, inhibition and time dependent inhibition assays to facilitate drug development.
Uridine 5'-diphospho-glucuronosyltransferase (UDP-glucuronosyltransferase, UGT) is a family of enzymes involved in conjugation reactions. We provide different assays about UGT, such as UGT reaction phenotyping, UGT induction and UGT inhibition. These assessments can detect potential drug-drug interactions and understand in vivo drug interactions.
